Our mission is to pioneer innovative ways to serve people entering the final chapter of their lives.
We believe that people who are dying, and their nearest and dearest, could receive better support if we harness the neighbourliness and compassion of local people - it is a time when a small gift of our selves can have a big impact.
We aim to create a service which can serve as a model for other small communities. This will reshape current attitudes towards death and include rediscovery and reintegration of traditional ways. We are not seeking to create a hospice. We seek to bring death to life and life to death in our daily lives.
Key to our success will be developing a sustainable structure within which we can test and refine ways of easing the difficulties associated with death and engaging hearts and minds to mobilise the innate humanity to care within our community.
